Hull is around two hours from our BB8 base, the furthest we go regularly. We take work here, but we are honest that it needs to be planned: a re-roof, a repointing job or a flat roof replacement makes sense as a booked visit, while a single loose slate does not justify the round trip on either side.
The city's housing is dense and largely brick. The taller stacks on Avenues villas stand well clear of the roofline and take the full force of estuary wind. Mortar joints erode, pots crack, and flaunching around the pot base opens up faster than on a sheltered stack.
